5 dangerous things you should let your kids do (video)

This goes back to the idea (and article) from a previous post (hefty-hefty-hefty). It's a video describing 5 "dangerous" things we should let our kids do. As a father of a 6-year-old and almost 1-year-old, I'm dealing with this on a regular basis... The safety thing, not the things listed in the video. Oh, and these are part of a book that the speaker wrote... which is 50 dangerous things. The first taste is free, then you gotta pay for it.

hefty, hefty, hefty?

...or wimpy, wimpy, wimpy?

(In case you don't feel like it... read it anyway)

I've been saying this for a while... it's the softening of our society. What happened to the stupid stuff that we did as kids (and that some of us still do)? It made us stronger (mostly). Now we get everything handed to us, cleaned, polished, and sanitized.

How many of us made a ramp for our bikes, then realized (albeit too late) that you can't just lean a board on something without it flipping back up and launching you head-first over the handlebars...?

Actually... my friend Joe still does that, but the ramps are bigger.

Cuts and scrapes were (and usually still are) good for you, it taught your body how to fight infections.

George Carlin put it really well... and this is neither safe for work nor anyone who can't handle GC-style (and level of) profanity.

Does this make sense to anyone else?

moving... again?

this time, it's for real. maybe.

We're moving again... our third apartment since april 2005. It's not a bad thing though. We moved from the first place 'cause we didn't like living in an apartment complex. We're moving from this place only because we need more space...

... which is also a big part of why I haven't updated in a while (although I've been around). We are now a family of four, with a baby boy as our latest addition. He's actually pretty huge for 9 weeks (14 lbs, 10 oz as of this morning). Things are settling down now (apart from the moving thing, of course), so hopefully I'll be able to update more regularly.
