sessions and seamonkeys

Since upgrading Seamonkey, I haven't been able to use session management to bring back the pages I was on. Yes, I could try to remember to bookmark whatever I was using, but there's no history to the tabs. It's just as lame as IE7 now, and I don't like it.

Does anyone know of a way to get it working? I've been Googling it and tried to install the "latest" version of it, but no luck (script not found off of the .xpi). This is on Windows XP, Seamonkey version 1.1.7. I might try to play with the installer, but I don't want to break anything else in the process.

Maybe the next version will have it built in like Firefox does. That would be nice.

firefox crashing makes me sad

As I mentioned a few days ago, Firefox has been crashing on me a lot in the past couple of weeks. Every time it happens, I get a little more upset, since I just want it to work (who doesn't?).

To be honest, I probably have too many Add-Ons installed. At one point, I think I had almost 40. Before anyone says anything, I actually use most of them on a daily basis. Here's what I have, including the versions, but not the Themes (thanks go to Listzilla for generating the list):

Not all of them are enabled right now, but they're all in there. I think the problem has been Firebug, which I use to figure out how pages work and what is (or isn't) working on pages. It's super useful, and I wish I didn't need to disable it, but it's necessary for now. I also want to re-enable NoScript, which I've had mixed success with in the past...

This isn't one of those "list of great extensions" things, just a little something to show what's happening on my particular browser.

Are there any good Firefox extension debugging tips out there? I'd like to know what's actually happening when it crashes, so I might be able to narrow down where my problem is.

the opera browser, re-found

Firefox has been crashing on me lately, probably something to do with the 35+ extensions I use (more on that in another post). I already have IE (yuck), Seamonkey (formerly the Mozilla browser), and Lynx (text browser, through Cygwin)... and haven't used Opera since they had ads built in (although I had it downloaded and ready to go when they stopped with the ads).

The install was pretty standard, but in opening it for the first time, it's improved quite a bit since the last time I fired it up. There are the usual features built in (like tabs and mouse gestures, which I love), but then there are more things - the Speed Dial is great, and Opera itself seems to be quick and light. Maybe too early to tell, but it's winning me over for some sites. This is also the "out ofthe box" version, so I haven't messed it up yet.
